Satoko Shibata 柴田聡子

Singer/songwriter/poet. Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Graduated from Musashino Art University and completed graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts.

In 2010, she began her career after a comment from her former teacher at university, and made her debut in 2012 with her first album “Shibata Satoko jima. Since then, she has expanded her activities to include singing and has released eight albums to date, including the hour-long monologue-like piece “Tanomoshii musume” at the theater festival “Festival/Tokyo 13.

In 2016, she published his first poetry collection, “Sabaque”. In the same year, she won the New Face Award of Contemporary Poetry Category. In 2023, she published a collection of essays entitled “Kireigire no Diary,” and in 2024, her second collection of poems entitled “Dive in Theater. She is also a frequent contributor to the Shizuoka Renshi no Kai (Shizuoka Poetry Association), and has garnered attention as a poet and writer.

In 2024, har album “Your Favorite Things” won the CD Shop Grand Prize 2025 , and in 2025, she released the single “Passing”. She published her first picture book “Kyouha yamani” (illustrated by Takahito Hada), for which she wrote the text.

She has performed as a guest artist and provided songs for many other projects, and her creativity knows no bounds.
